Miriam participated in the first ever team camp in 2008, as a 16 year old 'recruit' from Ullensaker Cycling Club. She have developed steadily since then, and had a promising career as a junior, but a dissapointing first year as a senior (2011). In 2012 she is back with several strong results, among them her first international win in Breendonk, Belgium in May. She was second in the national championships and 8th in the UCI race 'Dwars door Westhoek'.

- Another Young Italian, Double
European Champion Rossella Ratto
21.11.2012
This years no 6 in the world championships in Valkenburg was quite a sensation, yet she was number 2 in the world championships in 2010 as first year junior and double European champion as second year junior in 2011. She also won the TT national championships for juniors in 2011, and impressed with a 5th place as first year elite in 2012 TT championships. White jerseys in Giro del Trentino and Giro della Toscana show that she also have considerate climbing power. It will be good for her to be the second Italian in the team after Elisa joined this season. Rossella raced for the Italian UCI team Verinlegno - Fabiani this season. She is number 35 on the world UCI ranking.

The first ever world championships for UCI teams were held on Sunday. The team worked well together despite limited training time together. A scary episode after just a few kilometers when a senior citizen entered the course between the lead police motor cycle and the girls. Luckily the spectators could warn him just in time to avoid a fatal accident. Tone let go when we entered the Raarberg, while both Thea and Emilie fought hard to stay with the trio Elisa/Lise and Cecilie G up the Cauberg. Specialized Lululemon won as expected, while we ended on a satisfactory 8th place.

The 2 first stages where speedy and eventful, and both won by Kirsten Wild (AA Drink). Sara Mustonen started with a promising 12th place, but lost some momentum after a late crash in stage 2. On the queen stage 3 that included several times up the Muur van Geraardsbergen, Thea Thorsen managed to get in a nice break of 9, but she had to let the group go after a round. AA Drink closed the gap to the break, when a new break with Sara Mustonen escaped. From here 3 riders including overall winner Ellen van Dijk (Specialized Lululemon) emerged and Ellen won the stage and the race. Sara finished 12 and 10th overall.

16.07.2012
6 of the Norwegian Hitec girls raced in Bretagne from 12. to 15.July. There was 20 teams and 113 riders to start. 3 road race stages and one extremely complicated ITT. The race had a bad start when the team was very active (including breakaways by Marie and Emilie), but missed the descisive break of 7 after 85 kms. When we got organised to chase but too late. Anna vd Breggen (Sengers) won the stage. On the ITT, Emilie surprised with a nice 14th place. The next days road stage was almost perfect for us, but the leadout train didnt quite arrive at the station in the sprint, but Emilie did a good 5th place (and not Thea, as the results still state). She was also our best in the final hardest stage, with her 8th place in a small group. Also Cecilie Johansen did a good last stage. Emilie ended on a 14th place, and Thea on 21 in the GC. All the Hitec girls finished the race. Anna vd Breggen won convincingly after winning 3 stages.

Emilie Moberg to London!

Monday 18.6.2012 it was announced that Emilie Moberg is selected for the olympic road race. It has been a goal for the team since 2008 to

So goal 'b' is achieved, and with Emma Johansson already selected, we already have 2 chances to win the race!
Emilie was selected in sharp competition with teammate Lise Nøstvold (the two of them together hold 158 of Norways 176 UCI points). We qualified 2 places for Norway, have 2 girls that meet the criteria, but lost one to a special rule.

Ven Vleuten won the stage ahead of Emma, and what seemed a while to be a GC win for the Swedish star came out to be only a second, since Judith Arndt crashed within the last 3 kms she got the same time as the group. Nevertheless a fantastic work by the team and not least the 2 remaining riders, from which we must mention that Christel had one day in the mountain jersey.

Lise and team mate Cecilie Sæterøy Johansen escaped from the women elite peloton after 10 kms and rode well together for the remaining 80 kms. Johanne Bergseth was not well and abandoned on Varhaug. Nordsjørittet showed a fantastic organised event, the team manager on bike for a change could admire the thousands of spectators along the course!

Also Christel (4), Elisa (5) and Sylwia (11) had top placements in the GC. Most enjoyable was the superb teamwork throughout the race, and that made May the best month in the year of 2012 for us!

The race was won by Cecilie Gotaas Johnsen (CK Victoria), who is also the new overall NC leader. Our best was Thea Thorsen on a 10th place. This race inconveniently interfered with the training period of the Norwegians, stretching from 18.May to 8.June. But it is clear that we are not the best in Norway on ITT at this moment!

Lise 10th in 'Tour of Zhoushan Island II' (UCI 1.2) 18.5
18.05.2012
The last of 7 race days in China was the only hilly one, so Lise was to test her rusty climbing skills. The good thing was that she got in a break of 11 girls in the hills, the bad thing was that the entire team was in group 3 behind and couldnt give any support. in the last stage. After attacking one by one before the hills it was clear that the girls started to tire after 2 weeks of racing. Lise ended 10 in the sprint in the break. The winner was LIU Xiao Hui (Giant Chongming). This team started 'doubled up' when their 'second team' raced under a different name in the race.

Stage and Overall Victory in 'Tour of Zhoushan Island I' (UCI 2.2)
16.-17.5
17.05.2012
A victory on the first stage and 3d place on last stage for Emilie Moberg secured the GC win with 2 seconds on the national day of Norway.
The first stage was almost flat, and Thailand took the lead in the first intermediate sprint where Emilie was 2. On the second intermediate sprint Lise took 2 bonus seconds. We formed a perfect train in the final and Emilie delivered the first UCI win for the team in 2012!
The final stage of the tour was more hilly than the first, and we started off with a 5 second lead. With only 5 girls and 14 aggressive teams against us it was very difficult. The asian girls are very strong, and our only advantage was the good organisation in our team. Countless attacks was stopped during the 80 kilometers. In the final sprint Emilie Moberg was 3 (again after a great leadout train by the rest of the team), and this was enough to win the tour with 2 seconds. Lise Nostvold ended on a nice 7th place in the GC.
It was especially nice for a Norwegian team far away from home to win on our national day!

There was a strong sidewind on the bridge, but no attacks was succesful. The whole team managed to stay in front all day, and Tone Hatteland Lima took a sprint price after 91kms. In the final sprint, Lise Nøstvold lead Emilie Moberg from 500 meters, but after some difficulties in the hectic bunch Emilie finished 18. Slightly less than we hoped for after all her top 10 resullts this week, but she can be happy with her first individual World cup points! Shelley Olds (AA Drink) won a photo finish ahead of Melissa Hoskins (GreenEDGE). All the Hitec girls finished in the bunch.

DNB Cup #1, Victory to Cecilie Johansen
01.05.2012
Last Wednesday (25.April) the DNB Cup of the year started with 135 riders in the 3 'quality classes' that ride together in a big bunch. This is a points race criterium in a 1,3 km course , *blue class' rides active the first 15 rounds, with sprint points to the 3 first every round, then they sprint for the finish line. Then the 'black' class rides the next 15 rounds, when the 'yellow class' rides the last 15 rounds. The class that does 45 rounds included among others Alexander Kristoff (Katusha). It is a cup of 6 rounds and provides valuable sprint and peloton training for the cyclists of the area.
Cecilie Johansen took her first win of the season by solo attacking the bunch and scoring 9 sprint points in addition to her 8 points for finishing. Also Johanne Bergseth and Tone Hatteland Lima participated from the team, and there was a total of 17 girls in the bunch.

Festival Luxembourgeois Du Cyclisme Féminin Elsy Jacobs (UCI 1.2)
30.04.2012
"All" of the worlds best riders and some more was gathered in Luxembourg this weekend. This nice stage race started with a short prologue, a ITT in the city of Luxembourg of 1.7 km. A medium start for the team in rainy conditions where Annemiek van Vleuten (Rabobank) won, and Emma finished 20, but with short time difference.
Stage 2, GP Elsy Jacobs, were the 'queen stage', a long hilly road race and was won by Marianne Vos out of a 12 rider group where we had Emma and Elisa. Emma finished 6. On the final stage, 'GP Nicholas Frantz' that Emma won in 2010, the course had changed radically to be more easy and almost 100 riders in the bunch sprint. With 300 meters to go there was a huge crash that took down world champ Bronzini and Emma had to stop completely. Luckily she got the same time as the peloton and finished 4 in the GC, which is more than good considering the circumstances. Other positive things from Luxembourg: The team work!, Elisa's 12th place on stage 2, Lises 16th place on stage 3, and Elisa/Christels 14/15th places in the general classification.

(CDM)
04.04.2012
We had the best supporters, a good plan and did a great effort in the Ronde van Vlaanderen. Emilie and Sara worked hard in the early cobble sections, Lise and Christel did good on the first hills, and Elisa worked very well in the last part. Our captain Emma couldnt follow the desisive break of the 2 TT world champions in the Oude Kwaremont, Kristin Armstrong and winner Judith Arndt, and ended up in a small chase group, that was caught by the peloton. Elisa and 3 riders from AA-drink worked to catch the two escapers, but in vain. Arndt (GreenEDGE) outsprinted Armstrong to take her second RVV-win. In the peloton sprint, Emma ended up 10th on a total 12th place.

Team training and visit at Mistral
Home
30.03.2012
NThe last preparations before the Tour of Flanders were made yesterday in sunny Belgium. Not much Flemish weather to see so the girls enjoyed the new RVV circuit and the spring weather. The training started at our sponsor Mistral Home in Nazareth and the training were combined with a nice meet and great with our sponsor and media. AVS, the local TV canal followed us the whole training. This year's "Ronde Van Vlaanderen" will be different to the previous last years races. New is that we will finish in Oudenaarde. This is the town where "Hitec Products-Mistral Home Cycling Team" is suited the whole spring. So for the team and also our sponsor Mistral Home it will be a battle on "home ground". The girls did the 130km lap with an average of more than 30km/h. The tire pressure were tested and equipment chosen for Sundays race. Condition and team spirit was high and the whole team and sponsors looking forward to THE Belgium race of the year!

A lot of attacks followed, and Audrey Cordon attacked, for 5 km followed by Lise Nøstvold, who couldnt quite close the gap. Cordon won by 45 seconds, and Emilie was narrowly beaten by her teammate Pascale Jeuland in the peloton sprint. A good leadout by Lise in theremains of the peloton. They was caught on last round, then Emma tried to escape with a small group. This didnt last long, but Elisa Longo Borghini escaped 5 km before the finish with Armitstead (AA Drink) and Ferrand Prevot (Rabobank). She attacked again 500 meters before the finish, but the English champion Lizzie Armitstead caught up with her and won. Sara Mustonen counterattacked together with Maaike Polspoeel (Topsport Vlaanderen), and the 2 had max 1:30 on the peloton. The 2 was caught on the penultimate round, when the speed of the peloton was increased. Frøydis had a smaller crash but is OK.
