15.12.2010
We are very happy to announce that Swedish CRAFT (www.craft.se) who develop high tech clothing for all sorts of sports, have entered into an extensive 2 year sponsor agreement with our team.
We will ride in custom fit clothing from the same supplier as Cancellara and the Schleck brothers in the ‘Team Leopard’ in 2011.
This week Emma Johansson and newcomer Johanne Bergseth came together with the Craft development and design team to test the first issue of next years outfit, so the last adjustments can be made. The girls was impressed with the professional skills of the test crew, and the quality of the clothing.
We are very excited to have such a professional sponsor at our side towards the Olympic games in 2012!
Below are the preliminary champion jerseys of Emma Johansson and Lise Nøstvold, while the standard jersey will be presented soon. We can tell already that it will look magnificent!
- Hitec's new 'secret weapon' from
Sandnes!
12.12.2010
Espen Aareskjold is a professional bike fitter from Sandnes, son of previous national team coach Arne Aareskjold. Several of the Hitec girls have revently visited him to get their bikes adjusted. He use the 'Retul Bike fit System' which is an internationally recognized system that is also used by among others Team Radioshack. When we visited his studio at Spinn Sandnes, he was scanning Tone Hatteland and her new Scott Addict 2011 model.
He made quite drastical changes to her bike position, which he caractherised as 'terrible' before the session :-)
Her seat was elevated by 20 mm, and her handlebars with more than 50mm, this to allow her make use of her upper thigh muscles, which has remained inactive unless she was standing up. Also her shoe cleats was moved 10mm forward to give better efficiency of her lower leg muscles. After this weeks' training camp in Grand Canarias Tone is very satisfied with her new position.

About Espen Aareskjold. - World Cup Silver on the track for
Lisa Brennauer!
03.12.2010
The first world cup in the track series is going on in Melbourne, Australia right now. After a qualifying round with new German record, and fastest time ever on Australian soil, the German trio Lisa Brennauer (Hitec), Charlotte Becker (Cervelo) and Madeleine Sandig (Norris Cycling) cruised to the finals. Here they were beaten very narrowly by the world record holders, Australia. A very nice result for Lisa, and promising for the 2011 road season.

27.11.2010
The Stavanger area is mostly known for its famous women MTB cyclists, Byberg and Dahle. Today started the first Cyclocross cup in the region, more info on
http://www.rogalandck.no/CCC/
Tone Hatteland (Hitec/Bryne CK) won the womens race, with zero competitors, hopefully next time there are more of the local women to start. The parcours was excellent, the oragnisation was perfect, and the grill food afterwards was great in the 5-6 cold degrees. About 10 starters in total on CX-bikes, while a group of 15 riders on MTB started a little later. You can find pictures from the race here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/anmarton/sets/72157625352640983, note that a local helicopter was following the comeback of the Team Manager :-)

Products UCK in the Norwegian Cup Final
10.10.2010
The team finished the season in style, by taking the whole podium in Sandnes, thereby winning both the race and the Norwegian Cup altogether. We put the whole team at front from the start and set up a killing speed, blew the peloton to pieces, then launched Lise Nøstvold who never looked back. She rode 3 rounds alone and won a comfortable victory. In the sprint we set up a formidable leadout train: Kristine Saastad, Marie Voreland, Tone Hatteland and then Emilie Moberg, who won with 20 meters. Leadout girl Tone took the 3.place to secure that Lise Nøstvold is the winner of the Norwegian Cup 2010. This was the 'unofficial' debut of Marie Voreland, and she can be proud of her contribution to the victory.

08.10.2010
Marie Voreland is born in 1990, and rides for Team Torshov and the national team in 2010. She is born in Hønefoss and has grown up with Ringerike CK.
She was first known as a quick sprinter, but is showing growing talents in time trial, and was the youngest rider in the top 5 in the national championships (15 year younger than the second youngest :-). Marie had a bad accident with a car in 2008 which set her back with 2 broken legs, but her strength is growing, and we think we will see her blossom in 2011! Here is a video with a taste of her sprint from last year, and an interview:

Oslo Sykkelfestival,
Criterium
11.09.2010
Tone Hatteland won the criterium in Oslo Sykkelfestival saturday. The weather was bad, and the rainy cobblestone course in the middle of Oslo was very slippery and technical. A lot of the riders crashed out of the race, and Tone won the sprint of a leader group of 6 riders in the end. Linnea Sjøblom (Sweden) and Tone Walskaar (Team Alfa) were closest in the sprint.
- Ardeche: First UCI Podium for Frøydis!
09.09.2010
The Norwegian national team is in Ardeche (UCI 2.2), and is really showing results. 4 Hitec girls in the line-up, Emilie, Lise, Frøydis and Line. Emilie Moberg was 8 on the first stage, while Lise Nøstvold was 16 on the time trial and was 8 on the 3d stage. Frøydis Wærsted was in a break on both first and third stage, and finally she got her first UCI podium with her 3d place on the very hard third stage. This is the first time in many years a Norwegian girl is on the podium in a UCI-race! Lise Nøstvold is 8 in the general classification, and Frøydis is 14 before stage 4. We look forward to the rest of the race!

Results, General. - Holland Ladies Tour (UCI 2.2)
05.09.2010
This stage race is the toughest in the women's cycling world and the category 2 classification do not correspond to the quality. It has the best teams, the highest speed, the most wind, the most crashes and the biggest pelotons. As an example of the speed, the 107 km stage on the Friday had 42,5 km/h average. Our team was performing well despite the fact that we lost 3 riders to illness, and the 3 others were sick as well. Nathalie Lamborelle was the first to get the sickness, and only did 2 stages. Tone Hatteland did 6 stages before giving in to the fever the last day. Trine Schmidt showed signs of good old form before she also got the fever and together with Tone didn't start on the Sunday. Margriet Kloppenburg had some signs of illness in the start of the race but finished well and had overall a good race. Lisa Brennauer worked well all week, and despite a small crash on Saturday can be happy with the week, her best result was the 11th place on the Sunday. Sara Mustonen ended on a 17th place overall, and had some close-to-podium experiences through the week, and an OK time trial. The race was won by Marianne Vos in dramatic style, by beating sprint queen Kirsten Wild (Cervelo Test Team) on the finish line, and won thereby both the stage and the race in a split second. Kirsten Wild was leading by 3 seconds before start, and Vos won back 2 seconds during intermediate sprints, and had to be both on the podium and before Wild to win overall, which she did.

3 Norwegian Hitec
girls selected for the worlds!
24.08.2010
We congratulate Frøydis, Emilie and Lise with selections for the world championships road race in Australia. We are happy that Norway send a team to the event this year, which is positive step forward for woman's cycling in Norway. That all the 3 selected girls are from Hitec is even more satisfactory! On a day of celebration, the only disappointment is that Kristine Saastad must stay home, as she have met all the federations criteria for participation in the time trial.

GP de Plouay (CDM), World cup final in France
23.08.2010
The course is famous both from the world championships in 2000 and several tour de France finishes. It is very hard and hilly, and the 120 girl peloton shrinked steadily from the start, until it was reduced to 55 girls at the end. The first round was eventful, and saw the crash of Line Foss after 15 km, followed by a puncture by Lisa Brennauer at an extremely inconvenient time for the Hitec car, which was still working with Line. Lisa eventually came back to the peloton, but was too exhausted to do anything useful after a great start. Lise Nøstvold had a good day and was in the first breakaway of the day. Frøydis Wærsted worked well for most of the race but suffered from cramps toward the final. Emma Pooley soloed to victory again, and 5 other girls followed (Emma Johansson and Marianne Vos was closest to Pooley). The remaining peloton of 40 riders sprinted for the 8th place, Lise did a hard lead out for Sara Mustonen but it was not our day result wise and Sara was closed in at the final sprint. It is nice to see that the team is grooving more confident for every race!

Two Hitec girls in action in the bundesliga in the south of Germany this weekend. This race has now lost UCI status since last year when Sara Mustonen took her first UCI win here. Emilie Moberg was with the national U23 team and Tone Hatteland was a guest rider with Dutch SRAM VW Eemland. Emilie had some bike problems, more specific, her bike never left Oslo so she rode a slightly bigger bike than usual. She started with a solid 14th place but chose to not ride the last stage due to a aching back. Cecilie Sæterøy Johansen was best of the Norwegian team with a 11.place overall. Tone had a bad start but had better performances in stages 2 and 3, and her team mate Jessica Glasbergen took a nice 5th place in the GC. Hanka Kupfernagel won.

15.08.2010
The longest stage race in our short history is over, and it must be said that we met all our goals and expectations. We had a goal of top 10 in the General classification, and a top six in a stage. We ended up with 3 times top six on stages, with two podiums (Sara 2nd on 4th stage and Lisa 3d on last stage). And Sara Mustonen ended on 9th place in the general. Also Frøydis Wærsted's 7th place on stage 6 must be mentioned. Team manager Martin Vestby is pleased with the teamwork, and although 3 of our riders was outside the time limit the last day, they all took important parts in the good results. Annemiek van Vleuten (Nederland Bloeit) won the overall race ahead of Judith Arndt (HTC Columbia)

Route de France, Stages 1-4 (UCI 2.1)
12.08.2010
4 stages are done in one of the biggest stage races in the womens cycling world. The race start in Bretagne and cross all of France on its way back east, almost to the Belgian border. We had a medium start on the prologue saturday, Trine was our best with a 30th place. The next three road race stages have seen a gradual improvement, with nice team work the results were inevitable. Two of the stages ended in massasprints, when Sara was 11 and 4 respectively. The Wednesday stage 14 riders broke away, and for us it was good that Teutenberg and Visser, both from HTC-Columbia dropped shortly before the finish. Sara sprinted to second place behind the new star Van Vleuten (Nederland Bloeit). Sara is now 8 in the general classification before todays time trial. We are now happy with the situation, we have a well functioning team and look forward to the remaining 3 stages. Standings,

Sparkassen Giro,
Bochum Germany (UCI 1.1)
09.08.2010
TThis weekend "half" of our team was in Germany for the category 1 race Sparkassen Giro. There was 91 girls to start. It started off with a criterium 'Olympia Preis' in a 1.8 km course on saturday, where our girls had a main task of having fun, and use it as rehearsal for the Sundays race, since the finish was exactly the same. Lise impressed with hard work, and was in a break for 3 rounds. We raced for Lamborelle in the sprint, but a break of 5 girls, who was holding on with only some meters, made her 14.place unsatisfactory. Lise was 16, Tone 37, Kristine 48 and Maria 53. Martine raced well for 15 rounds but were lapped. Silvia Valsecci from Fassa Bortolo won. The saturday saw a terrible rainstorm, and a delayed start of 15 minutes, and parts of the course had several inches of water. We had a plan of delivering 2 sprinters to the finish, as Nathalie Lamborelle needed UCI-points for her worlds qualifications, and Emilie in the same situation with lack of one result to be qualified for Australia. After the first rounds in the 15 km course, the peloton was reduced to 2/3. The 'working girls' of the day, Maria, Tone, Lise and Kristine responded to the break attempts until round 3, when a break of 8 girls formed without us. Unfortunately we were unable to catch this break, as no teams helped us. Ellen van Dijk (HTC-Columbia) won, 58 seconds ahead of the bunch. Kristine and Lise did a great leadout job in the last kilometers, and all of us avoided the big crash in the last curve 250 meters before the finish. Emilie Moberg was third in the peloton sprint and took place 11, while Nathalie Lamborelle took the 12. and last point place, so the mission was accomplished!

This weekend the 7. and 8.round of the womens UCI world cup took place ine Vårgårda, Sweden. The event is very well organised, and the bad weather was not the fault of the organisers! The team time trial on Friday was, from our side, much better than last year. TTT's are a difficult business, especially in sidewind, rain and slippery roads. We lost Isabelle on the way to Herrljunga, and Martine on the way back to Vårgårda. The four remaining girls, Trine, Sara, Kristine and Maria made a powerful performance to secure a nice 8th place. We had the doubtful pleasure of starting first, but remained the leaders until 9 teams had finished. All the teams that beat us is also ranked well higher than us, and we beat some 'better' teams as well. With our young team, we will be even stronger in 2011! The road race on Sunday was a less success for us. An incident in the last 90 degree turn destroyed the day for Sara Mustonen, who was in a good position from start until 400 meters from the finish. Instead of getting a good result, she lost all speed and rolled last over the line of the remaining 40 riders. In the same peloton, Isabelle sprinted to a 21th place. Emilie Moberg finished some minutes behind the first group, but can be satisfied with her world cup debut. The team had a tough day, and it was dissapointing that we did not get any result from the hard work.

Tour de Feminin
Limousin (UCI 2.2) France 21.-25.July
26.07.2010
The team have spent some nice day in France, in nice weather and surroundings. After a rough first stage where we lost precious seconds when we lost the break, the next 3 days was an uphill struggle against the strongest teams, Australia, Michela Fanini and Lotto, to regain the seconds. With hard work and a little luck we finished with Sara on 8th place, after she had a good time trial and two days 'almost on the podium'. Frøydis finished on an impressive 18.place in the GC. There was 9 UCI teams, 7 national teams and 14 club teams to start. Kristine had a great time trial with a 13.place in a very technical and hilly course, with 200 h/m on 17,5 km. Maria had a good time trial in a for her difficult course, and worked hard in the road stages. Line had a rough start but finished much better, while Trine used this race to get back in form after a long break.

The peloton was to lazy to catch the 2 in the heat and instead went for a massasprint with 88 remaining riders on the cobblestones. Sara was our sharpest with a nice overall 6th place, Nathalie finished 10. All the other girls finished in the peloton. De Vocht won. Now we rest a couple days in Belgium before moving on to Tour de Limousin in France.

Great Norwegian
results in Tour de Feminin!
11.07.2010
The U23 team with 4 Hitec girls have made great results in the Czech Republic the last 4 days. Not only were there in every stage one or more Hitec-girls among the top 10, but more important, Lise Nøstvold ended up at 7th place in the end classement and thereby scored the first individual UCI points outside Norway since Anita Valen. Emilie Moberg sprinted to 5th place on a stage, and Kristine finally found back her TT speed and finished place 8 with almost 44 km/h over 21,4 km. Frøydis hit back on the final stage with a 6th place, her best ever result. Team Manager Davy Wijnant reports of very good team work, the best team he ever seen so far. Marie Voreland must be mentioned, who several times dropped to pull back riders with technical problems, and even gave her wheel away one day. Trixi Worrack (Noris Cycling) won. Nathalie Lamborelle also did the race for a mix team, while Jacqueline Hahn didnt start due to a minor operation.

Norwegian
Championships Road Race, Lise takes the jersey!
30.06.2010
The Norwegian road race was, like in Bergen 2008, extremely hard and hilly. We had a strong team, as in the criterium, all with clearly defined roles and tasks. Our first attempts with Kristine out on round 3 came to nothing, but when the tactics started in round 4 we created a good break for us with Lene Byberg (Bryne CK/Team Specialized) and Lise Nøstvold. As long as Lise could stay with Byberg there was at least 50-50 chance to win for us.
Kristine, Line and Frøydis controlled the three other remaining favorites Linn Torp (Eidsvoll), Linda Larsen (Grimstad) and Elin S.Fylkesnes (Team Alfa) in a 6 women group behind. Lene Byberg worked hard to shake Lise off her back wheel in the hills, while Lise did most of the job on the flats and downhills. Lise was in a better position as she had three team mates in the chaser group while Byberg had to rely on the break to succeed.
The chasers could never agree between each other and the advantage of the 2 girls grew to 2 minutes and 30 out on the last round.
On the final 2,5 km climb to the finish Byberg was glued to Lises wheel in a tactical and psychological battle. Byberg opened the sprint 200 meters before the finish, but Lise managed to come back and there was a photo finish that showed that Lise won with 1-2 centimeters. A real fairytale story for the 23 year old girl, who came into Norwegian cycling from nowhere 2 months ago! In a split second she became, not only the leader of the Norwegian cup, but also the road champion and the highest rated Norwegian woman on the UCI ranking.
In the 'peloton' sprint, Line Foss jumped away on the 5 others to a well deserved third place. It was nice to see that Line, who always works hard for the team, could get a result in a course that was made for her.

Lisa Brennauer with
good results in the German meisterschafts!
29.06.2010
Lisa started with a good time trial on Friday 25. where she had a 7.place, and the result list looks more like the world championships than a national championship, with Arndt, Becker, Teutenberg, Hausler and Duster in front of her.
In the road race the follwoing day, she struggled alone against 3 teams, Cervelo, Noris Cycling and Columbia. She missed the break of three girls with Charlotte Becker (Cervelo), Judith Arndt (Columbia) and Trixi Worrack (Noris). Then she managed to catch the second break of 4 girls, where she took an overall 6th place behind Teutenberg and Hennig.

Nathalie Lamborelle have fought her way back after several months illness, and did a nice road race in Luxembourg in a difficult course for her. In a hilly course the new Champion Christine Majerus made her gap in the climb in the first of 4 laps and rode to the title. In the second lap Nathalie escaped together with Anne-Marie Schmitt from the small bunch, but they didn't manage to keep the distance to the chasers so that 5 girls started the last climb 5km before the finish line. Nathalie tried to escape but was caught back. On the finish line she sprinted then to the second place!

The hope of a gold medal after the good results in Eidsvoll was not to happen for Kristine Saastad in Trondheim today, who didnt get the speed up in the 30 km course. Hitec Products UCK med nytt NM-gull
23.06.2010

After a tactical team effort we won gold and bronze in the opening of the championships week in Trondheim. We had full control from start to finish, and after 15 rounds the decisive break with Tone Hatteland and Lise Nøstvold, accompanied by Cecilie Johansen (Stjørdal), escaped from the remains of the peloton. A perfect leadout on the last round from Lise , and Tone won the sprint and thereby her first gold medal. 7 Hitec girls for start in this windy area of Holland. 28 teams and 200 riders to start. Nathalie Lamborelle was back after 4 months illness and did a good race, especially with her 2.stage. Lisa Brennauer did a great time trial (with some help from boyfriend Arno in the car :) and was 12 after first stage, with the dominating Cervelo and 'Nederland Bloeit' teams we were car 5 with that result. 6 Cervelo girls and 3 'Vos'-girls in the first 11... In Stage 2, Sara was in the right break of 20 and finished 5. On the last stage, the wind, rain and temperature was a challenge. Sara crashed in a critical phase before the bridge. A quick wheel change by Juan, and the help of Maria, Nathalie and Frøydis brought her back before the 'Dijks'. Sara, Lisa and Frøydis managed to get in the decisive break of 25 after 60 km but Frøydis suffered a crash and had to go in the car. Lisa brought Sara into the small rounds just as the group split, and she was in the final with 14 riders. A break of 3 on the last 2 km decided, Kanis won the stage, Sara was 10 and 12 overall. Wild (Cervelo) won the GC. A good team effort and nice 'warmup' for the national championships! - 2 more wins for Sara in Sødertaljeloppet, Sweden

Two of our girls, Lise and Tone, started in the local big happening in Stavanger area, the 91 km MTB Marathon race 'Nordsjørittet' with more than 10000 participants. The Elite woman section consisted of 13 women, among them 4 girls from Norwegian 'Team Alfa', and Josie Loane, winner of a stage in 'Tour de PEI'. The race went under terrible conditions, almost 50 km/t headwind, 8 degrees and heavy rain. Tone and Lise set full speed from start, and after 20 km all the others were off the back exept Tone Walskaar (Team Alfa). About 25 km from the finish Lise Nøstvold dropped Walskaar and went alone to a nice win in her first MTB race. Hatteland beat Walskaar in the sprint for second place 6 minutes later. Next year We hope that the local Olympic champion and world champion in MTB, Gunn Rita Dahle Flesjå, dares to compete in the women Elite class. She was the reason we wanted to do this race, but she was mysteriously moved to the 35-39-class... So we never know how good Lise Nøstvold really was yesterday, because this choice from the MTB queen.

DNS Randi Warland (SK Rye) - Hitec girls in Holland
06.06.2010
As part of preparations to the national championships, the team have spent a week in Holland and done several races. The woods of Norway was changed out with the open windy roads in Holland. Many of the young girls are busy with school exams, and stay home for most of this period. Some girls jumpstarted by doing 'Wijk an Alburg' and 'Ronde Rond van Ronostrand' but the first real race with the whole team was 'Parel v d Veluwe', the longest classic race in Holland. We were taken by surprise by the heat during this day and most girls had to do half the race without drinking. Not a bad result after all with a 10th place by Lisa Brennauer. Lisa said goodbye after the race and went to Spain where she will do the world cup with the german national team. In 'Nact van Hengelo', a criterium as a warmup for the men, featuring Ivan Basso and Tyler Farrar among others, we won after Sara outsprinted Roxanne Knetemann (Merida). The other girls did a good controlling job in the peloton, and Emilie finished 7 overall and Tone 10. A nice victory for the team. We completed the week with the 'Therme Kasseienomloop Exloo' (UCI 1.2) which also went in nice and warm weather. It started not so good with Sara in a crash, and she spent some time coming back to the peloton. After being very active most of the race we were sleeping when a group of 10 escaped on the last cobblestone section. We organised the whole team to catch the group, but failed with 20 seconds. Isabelle was our best with place 14 , all the other girls finished in the peloton. Regina Bruins (Cervelo) won before Kirsten Wild (Cervelo). This weekend we kicked off the summer season with two road races in the Norwegian Cup in Eidsvoll. An all time high startfield with around 60 girls both days. On the saturday, we created a lot of activity throughout the race, by making all the attacks of the race, but without success in the too easy course. It was down to a bunch sprint where we had Emilie as the finisher. What looked to be a easy win was spoiled by hands in the air and deplacement to the last in the peloton. A strange desicion by the commisaries, especially since a similar incident passed without reaction in the men junior field 10 minutes before. A 'sleeping rule' that is used (for the first time ever?) against a professional woman road cyclist, we are not very happy about. Congratulations to Linn Torp (Fenixs Petrogradets) who always sprint all the way over the line :-) The last leadout girl Sara Mustonen was our best with second place. And we kept the yellow jersey with Lise Nøstvold.
On the sunday, in a much more difficult course, Kristine Saastad went in a break after 15 km with Tone Walskaar (Team Alfa). They got a gap of 2 minutes to Minneåsen, where Kristine attacked Tone in the 4 km hill. She never looked back, went solo for 80 km, and held the chasing peloton away with 2mins 10 seconds over the line (no hands up :-). A powerful performance of Kristine! The leadout train went perfect in the peloton, where Sara won with Lisa Brennauer as last leadout girl on second. A triple win is a good memory, and it was nice to see the team working so well together.

09.05.2010
Lise Nøstvold (23), have signed a contract for the remainder of the season. Lise comes from handball and is new in cycling, but is wearing the yellow jersey of the Norwegian Cup, after a great performance in a hilly course in Bergen. That was only her second race. We look forward to get Lise in the team!

This is the first womens' stage race in europe this season. We sent a young but strong team to the Czech republic, and they really made a good race. Frøydis Wærsted became again our best rider, mainly because of her efforts on the most difficult stages 1 and 2. On stage 2 she was in a break with 5 riders (among them olympic champion Nicole Cooke) chasing the leaders Vos and Van Vleuten. She finished 7 on that stage, with a gap big enough to keep her on a 9th place in the general classification. Kristine jumped away from the peloton on the last kilometer and took a fine 9th place on the stage.
Report from Frøydis: 'All the girls raced well. Emilie Moberg were impressing with good positioning. Maria also raced very strong, especially on day two up the long hill (of course also the ITT, but everybody know that Maria can time trial). Lisa was unlucky with crashes and technical problems, but she is so strong and was the girl who always gathered the team and understood what had to be done. She was an inspiration for us. It was great for me to reach the finish on stage 2, and then could cheer Kristine when she came up the hill with safe distance to the peloton. It was great to race for Hitec in Gracia, because all the girls were a lot in the front and we showed ourselves as a team.'

This weekend we visited Nathalie Lamborelles beautiful country for two hard races. Unfortunately Nathalie could not start because of her calf problem. In the 'GP Elsy jacobs' on saturday the hilly 6 shortrounds of 10 km and 2 hard hills proved too hard for most of our team and the peloton. Sara Mustonen had a good day in a 'bad' course for her, and sprinted to a 9th place in a small group 1.21 behind the great Emma Pooley. The sunday race 'GP Mameranus' was won by another great Emma, Johansson this time :-) Isabelle had the best legs today, but 'died' in the sprint the last 500 meters and got a 29th place. Sara tried a break on the penultimate round but never had more than 20 seconds. The start was uphill today and in heavy rain. When Cervelo gave full throttle from start 1/3 of the peloton was dropped in the first 5 km. This race weekend was the end of our 3 month spring season, and we look forward to a period of rest. - GP Stad Roeselare

25.04.2010
We had two races this weekend, one in Holland on Saturday, and in Belgium Sunday. In Borsele on Saturday, we missed the break we knew would come. We chased the 16 girl group together with Leontien, Britain and Canada, but we never got organized properly. Kirsten Wild won. Isabelle Søderberg and Lisa Brennauer finished 22 and 24, and we finished with 5 girls, which was positive, when only 80 of 165 girls completed the race in the strong sidewinds.
Results.
On the Sunday, we managed to have Sara in the front all the way to the finish, and she sprinted to a 8.place in the massasprint of 53 girls. A nice result for us! And guess who won? Wild of course.

22.04.2010
We will remember this race just as much for the troublesome logistics as for Frøydis Wærsted and Jacqueline Hahn's good efforts. We have riders stuck imn Sweden and Norway, and it didnt help that Lisa Brennauer had some illness problems and couldnt start. Frøydis was hanging with the best until 20 km to go, as our protected rider for the day.

20.04.2010
Lisa Brennauer did a good race with her 14.place in this Belgian Kermes race on Sunday. The race was with about 120 girls, part of the Belgian equivalent to the Dutch top-competition. Grace Verbeke (Lotto) won. Tone Hatteland continued her bad luck streak with a new early puncture. Jacqueline Hahn helped Tone back in the peloton after the fix, but a minor crash sent the Norwegian out of the race in need of a new dropout and rear derailleur. Lisa was one of only 20 girls that finished the race, the whole peloton was too far behind and was stopped 2 rounds before finish. Comment of the day, from Lisa: 'I expected it to be easier' :-) - Vårsprinten
19.04.2010
Kristine Saastad took her second win of the weekend Sunday in the TT of 20 km 'Vårsprinten'. Marie Voreland was 2 an our own Martine Amundsen rode in to a strong third place.
Results. - Ronde van Gelderland (UCI 1.2)
18.04.2010
With cars and trains we managed to muster 5 girls for the entry race of the top competition. The race was full of crashes and for us, punctures. First Tone punctured at a critical point before the 'dijks', then Frøydis in the climb 'Emma pyramid'. Lisa Brennauer gave up her back wheel to help in her debut, great team play. Frøydis finished 27 in the sprint, Jacqueline 52. - Double win at Ronde van Berg.
17.04.2010
Kristine Saastad won and Emilie Moberg was 2 in 'Ronde van Berg' in Larvik today. Nice debut in Norway for the team this year.

The last race in the Drenthe-triple was not the best for us. We did not get any girls into the important 29 girl break. The main peloton went slowly, with the result that all of it was stopped on time limit. The race was won ny Annemiek van Vleuten (Nederland Bloeit). Now the girls are happy for a week of rest before 'Ronde van Gelderland' (UCI 1.2) next Saturday. Results of today is here. - Unive Ronde van Drenthe (CDM) 10.April
10.04.2010
Saturday was time for the third world cup in 2010 for Team Hitec Products UCK. Sara Mustonen had two small crashes before the cobble sections, and didn't manage to get into the main break today. A break of 14 riders arrived first, with the winner Loes Gunnewijk. We had 3 girls in the peloton, Sara, Isabelle Søderberg and Frøydis Wærsted. Jacqueline had her second crash of this year, but nothing serious (she start tomorrow).

08.04.2010
The day after Ronde van Vlaanderen it was time for the UCI race GP Dottignies in western Belgium. This was also to be the debut for our two Norwegian youngsters, Martine Amundsen and Emilie Moberg. The race went in a big lap of 50 km, with 2 hills and a 1200 m pave section. After this there was 7 short rounds in and around the city of Dottignies. After the Kluisberg climb the peloton was split in 2 parts. We managed to get 3 riders into the first group, Saastad, Mustonen and, Emilie Moberg!
They sat in this 60 rider group until the final peloton sprint, but without any top results. Emilie Mobergs 34.place was still impressive in her debut for the team. The great sprinter Kirsten Wild (Cervelo) won the race. Results.

07.04.2010
The biggest party in Belgium and in the cycling world took place from Oudenaarde on Sunday. We started with more confidence than last year, since we had done some preparation this time! The first part was very nervous and we counted 5 crashes in the first 25 kilometers before the first cobblestone section, in which the most important victim was Sara Mustonen. Skillful driving by her and the team manager helped her back in the peloton just before the cobbles. Into the base of Eikenberg, the third climb, the peloton hit a spectator that tried to cross the road at an unfortunate time, when Lisbeth the Vocht (Nederland Bloeit) ended up in hospital, while the person that caused the crash at least looked to be heading for a more permanent place. Not a nice sight for the peloton. At the cobble sections of Mater the peloton split in several small groups, and we unfortunately wasnt able to get into the first group. Isabelle Søderberg had the best legs of the day, with a promising performance. After her first races in Het Nieuwsblad and Binda this was a step in the right direction. 5 of our riders managed to finish the race, but no top placements for us. Results of the Hitec riders and Results of the whole race.

Emilie Moberg with a nice 8th place in the Belgian Kermiss race 'Westkerke' on Saturday. Moberg and Martine Amundsen did the race with the national team, while Maria Grandt Petersen also wanted to use the opportunity to get a good 'warmup' to the UCI Race GP Dottignies on Monday. Unfortunately it was a short race for Maria as she crashed after 300 meters. As was lucky, the injuries were not serious. Results for the race is here.

03.04.2010
The world cup opener was just as hard as expected, with one long round and 5 smaller rounds. After about 25 km, the peloton reached a small town with 2 short circuits with a steep hill. This hill split the peoloton into 5 groups, and several riders dropped out of the race already here.
After 35 km, the 6km long hill was reached, and the speed up this was high. There was formed a front group of about 25 riders, and a peloton behind with about 50 riders. In this group we had 3 riders, Sara, Line and Frøydis. The rest of the peloton was stopped when we entered the small rounds. All the big teams had riders in the front group, so unfortunately there was no hard racing in the peloton. The lead of 40 seconds rised to almost 10 minutes before the finish. The race was won by Marianne Vos (Holland). We finished with 2 riders, Frøydis and Sara. - Første seier til Team Hitec Products

22.03.2010
Lisa Brennauer, who in 2009 raced for the former big team 'Equipe Nurnberger', is one of the new Hitec girls for 2010. Lisa is not only a great sprinter, but she is a very good time trialer as well, she won the ITT World championships for juniors in 2005. After a long winter of waiting and training, on Friday Lisa received the start permission for the track world championships in Copenhagen next week. She is of course very happy about this, and we look forward to follow her next Thursday in the team pursuit. Good luck to her!
- New UCI Race in Norway!
19.03.2010
The Norwegian club Bryne Cykleklubb organise the first UCI race for women in Norway in 20 years, the 21.August outside Bryne in Rogaland. Our team will be starting for sure, together with the Norwegian national team. The race will be called 'Bryne Grand Prix' and have category 1.2 on the calendar. This is a very good development for Norwegian women cycling, and it will be nice to see if it can develop to a world cup in the future. Bryne Cykleklubb is a skilled and experienced organiser, with big 1-day races like 'Garborgriket Rundt', 'Aarbakkerittet Lysebotn-Bryne' and Norways first race only for women, 'Hulderrittet'. The club also successfully organised the National champpionships for masters in 2009. The team salutes the club for the good work! Link to the homepage of Bryne CK: www.brynecykleklubb.com
- Hitec Products UCK on the Road again
13.03.2010
The team is today starting the final training camp as preparation for the spring classics. We found a beautiful villa in the mountain village Volterra in Toscana, Italy with room for 17 people. We will spend 10 days here, and the camp was meant to culminate in 3 UCI 1.2 races, Costa Etrusca 1, II and III. These are all cancelled, unfortunately.
After the camp, we will move to Cittiglio, to prepare for the Womens UCI World cup opening, Trofeo Alfredo Binda the 28.March. Following this race, we go to Flandern for the cobblestone classic world cup 'Ronde van Vlaanderen' 4.April and the UCI 1.2 race 'GP Dottignies' 5.April. This last race will see the debut of our two youngsters Emilie Moberg and Martine Amundsen.
The Norwegian U23 national team will also start in Dottignies, and with Linn Torp on the starting list for Fenixs there will be around 10 Norwegian girls in the same race.
- The new Team car has arrived!
07.03.2010
The team have now received the team manager car for 2010, for the second year in a row delivered by Møller Bil Jessheim.
As in 2009 it is a Skoda Octavia station wagon, the main difference for 2010 is automatic drive and a smart manual shifting mode, located on the steering wheel. The testdrive prove that the car is quiet, fast, handles well and extremely comfortable. Now its all about making it ready for the races in time. See more info on the Skoda Octavia here, or even a short movie here. We are so grateful to Møller Bil Jessheim for providing this fantastic car!
- Women's Tour of New Zealand, final report
01.03.2010
The two last stages in New Zealand is completed, with Sara on 9th and 6th place. In the general classification we also ended on a 9th place. After a pretty good race all we really missed was a top result, but the "Oceanians" proved to be in too good shape, because they are in the end of their racing season, while we Europeans are still building form to start it. We were only some tactical misses (and maybe a puncture in a certain sprint) away. Kristine showed that her TT abilities is still improving with her strong result on the 4th stage. The last criterium was to be short for many riders, the circuit was 800 meters and riders were lined up by the result list. So some riders had the peloton right behind them before they even got started. 55 out of the remaining 75 riders were lapped, so in the end the final result list was remarkably lean :-) If we are nice then Kristine finished on a 27th place, Nathalie on 41th place and Tone on 55th place.
Results.
- Omloop Het Nieuwsblad
27.02.2010
Maria Grandt Petersen made a fine debut for the team with her 23.place in Belgium today. With a start list of almost 200 riders in heavy rain, it all dried up during the day. The start was nervous with several crashes as the roads became more narrow. After Kluisberg the peloton exploded, and a group of 5 girls, including the later winner Emma Johansson escaped. Unfortunately without us, but all the girls were in the front of the peloton until Paterberg. Our second debutant girl Jacqueline Hahn suffered a crash, just when the cars was redirected. The only damage was the bike, shifter into rear wheel. The third girl with her UCI debut for the team, Frøydis Wærsted, had two punctures, and finished some 8 minutes behind Emma. Maria tackled the hills very well and finished with a strong group. A promising start for 2010! And many congratulations to Emma Johansson with a "preannounced" win :-) - Women's Tour of New Zealand, Stages 2, 3 & 4
26.02.2010
The 3 next stages are done in New Zealand, Sara was 7 in stage 2 and 17 in stages 3 and 4. In stage 3 Nathalie was unlucky and punctured as the sprint started. The 4th stage was the time trial, with a nice place 18 by Kristine. With 2 stages to go Sara Mustonen is on 11th place in the GC. The last two stages should fit us well, especially the criterium in Wellington on Sunday. Lets hope the sprints sits better then. Results: Stage 2, Stage 3 and Stage 4ITT.
- Women's tour of New Zealand, Stage 1
24.02.2010
The debut for the team happened when most people in Europe was sleeping. The opening stage of 97 km was the hardest of the entire tour, with several hard climbs. We managed to get Sara Mustonen in a 24 girl break, where she ended 9 in the sprint. Kristine Saastad came in with the second group. Nathalie Lamborelle and Tone came in with group 3, Tone went down in a big crash after 30km, but is ok. Shelley Evans from USA won the hilly stage, before Ruth Corset from Australia.

Lisa was given the task of making as many breaks as possible, while helping captain Angela Hennig at the final kilometers.
The first day Lisa was involwed in a crash, and lost 12 seconds. In the last day she was alone in a break for 30 kilometers. When she was caught by the peloton just before the four final laps, she was unable to follow and got some minutes. Angela Hennig finished 13 overall. The stages was won by Rasa Leleywhite (Safi-Pasta-Zara), Giorgia Bronzini (Italy) and Kirsten Wild (Cervelo).
The last sprint was partly spoiled by a big crash, see picture:
