Less than two weeks after her second place in the Ronde de Mouscron, Nicole Steigenga has again become second in a UCI-race. This time she did that in the Leiedal Koerse, a new Belgium race on the calendar, that shows a lot of similarities with the men’s E3 Prijs. In the last 10 kilometers Nicole was together with three Parkhotel Valkenburg, with success covered a lot of their attacks, but then got beaten in the sprint for the win.
Third for Nora Tveit in EPZ Omloop van Borsele
Only five days after the first international podium spot of the season, Nora Tveit has given Team Coop – Hitec Products already its second! In the EPZ Omloop van Borsele, the 19-years-old Norwegian rider finished third. Nora belonged to a group of 6 riders that sprinted for the second place, behind solo winner Maaike Boogaard (UAE Team).

Steigenga sprints to second place in Ronde de Mouscron
Team Coop – Hitec Products has its first podium of the season. In the Ronde de Mouscron Nicole Steigenga sprinted to the second place on Monday. She and Sylvie Swinkels were part of a first group of thirty riders that sprinted for the win. Nicole started the sprint early and saw only Thalita de Jong passing her before the finish line.

Andersson fights in front in France
During the Easter weekend, Team Coop – Hitec Products races on two different places. On Sunday the team started in the French race Grand Prix Féminin de Chambéry. Caroline Andersson there showed herself, getting herself in a small chasing group behind eight leaders and in the end finishing in 13th position. On Monday a different group of riders will start in the Belgium race Ronde de Mouscron.
Team shows itself strong in Amstel Gold Race
Team Coop – Hitec Products has again been able to show itself in a World Tour race. In the Amstel Gold Race, Ingvild Gaskjenn belonged to the first group that started the last climb of the Cauberg together. She finished around the 20th place. “It was a hard race and I think I can be very happy with this result.”

Hard fight in hectic Scheldeprijs
After a weekend without a race, Team Coop – Hitec Products got back into action on Wednesday, racing the Scheldeprijs. The Belgium classic that with the men already for years is known as the ‘un-official world championships for sprinters’, was organised for the women for the second time. As last year, Lorena Wiebes won the bunch sprint. Ingvild Gaskjenn sprinted to the 16th place.
