Winning both the Norwegian title in the time trial and the road race, next to some national races, 2020 was a good year for Anne Dorthe Ysland. However, it wasn’t what she had hoped her last year as a junior rider would look like, as there were no international races. “I had high ambitions for the world championships”, she says. Next season Anne Dorthe will join Team Hitec Products. In this interview we speak with her about her last year as a junior, joining the team and more.
With seven new riders on a total of twelve riders, Team Hitec Products will have a new look in the 2021 season. A young group of riders, with an average age of 21 years and 4 months at this moment, is eager to show themselves. In the upcoming period, we talk with the new riders of Team Hitec Products. Starting with Martine Gjøs, who is actually not totally new, as she already joined the team in September. “I looked up to this team when I was younger.”
One week after announcing their team roster for 2021, Team Hitec Products has decided to add an extra rider to their squad. The 19 years old Norwegian talent Mari Mohr also joins the team next season. As a junior Mohr won the Norwegian road race cup in 2019, with a total of five race wins. She also became national champion cyclocross last year. With her addition, Team Hitec Products now has twelve riders for 2021, ten of whom are under the age of 23.
With the signing of Christa Riffel, Team Hitec Products have completed their team for 2021. The 22 years old German cyclist is the sixth new rider for next season. Earlier the team signed Dutch rider Claudia Koster, Caroline Andersson from Sweden and Norwegian talents Anne Dorthe Ysland, Ann Helen Olsen and Martine Gjøs. Gjøs already made her debut for the team in the last races of this season. Five riders re-signed their contract.
Last weekend was a special weekend. A weekend that brought a big smile on our faces, but also some tears. In the three days World Tour stage race Challenge by La Vuelta the team raced well and Mieke Kröger ended 10th in the general classification. However, as it was the last race of the season, it was also time to say goodbye. To Lucy van der Haar, who ended her career, and to Vita Heina who is leaving the team after seven years.
Team Hitec Products are happy to announce the signing of Claudia Koster. The 28 years old cyclist from the Netherlands brings experience to the team, after racing on international level for years already. Koster is the fifth new rider for 2021. Five riders re-signed their contract. “I am very happy with this new step and I am already looking forward to next season. I am very motivated and can’t wait to join the team.”
