Nicole Steigenga picks up where she left off

WESTHOEK (BEL): CYCLING: JUNE 5: Nicole Steigenga

After she had to withdraw from the Ride London on the first day due to illness, Nicole Steigenga immediately showed her good form again in Dwars door de Westhoek. The Belgium one day race ended in a bunch sprint this Sunday. Behind winner Chiara Consonni, Nicole menaged to get fourth. This season she already got four podium places as well.

“There were only two of us left in the final, so together with Tone who was our sportsdirector today, we decided to keep calm and go for the sprint”, Nicole looked back after the race. “Then Pernille set me off well for the last corner. I had to hold back a bit in the last few hundred meters, so I missed the connection with the first riders, but I still rode a good sprint.”
