Not a race for the history books for Hitec Products. Big crowds and high profile, but no luck in the race (or outside, we also had illness). Our only notable result was Chloe Hoskings 7th place on the last stage. Marianne Vos won overall.
Team: Elisa, Chloe, Ashleigh, Audrey, Thea, Siri
Emilie, Miriam and Cecilie was with the national team in Czech Republic for the stage race Gracia Orlova. Miriam showed increasing form by taking a nice 4th place on stage 3.
After several breakaways with our team involved, Anna vd Breggen (Rabo) was allowed to go solo to win. Julie finished 12th for us.
Team: Julie, Audrey, Elisa, Emilie
In the return og marianne Vos, the team did a great job of defending last years podium. We set up our 2 captains beautifully to place Elisa back on the podium with 3d and Ashleigh on 5th. Nothing could be done with the winner Pauline Ferrand Prevot (Rabobank) and world cup leader Elisabeth Armitstead (Boels Dolmans) on 2d. Audrey Cordon was in a serious break attempt 20 k from the finish and followed deep into the final.
Team: Elisa, Ashleigh, Julie, Audrey, Lauren, Cecilie
The team followed tradition and raced in Apeldoorn in the spring, for the 6th time. We were chasing to beat our best result which was in 2013 with Chloe Hosking’s 3d place. It looked very well for us when we placed 4 girls in the leading group (Chloe, Audrey, Elisa and Cecilie). However in the finish only Elisa contested the sprint in a select group of 12 riders, and she finished 7th behind the winner Kirsten Wild (Giant Shimano). Julie had an unlucky day with an early puncture.
Team: Elisa, Chloe, Audrey, Julie, Cecilie, Lauren
The team started for the 4th consecutive time in the French cup opener. The team raced well and got Julie, Elisa and Audrey in the select group of 15. Later the group was down to 11 and in the end Emma Johansson (Sweden) escaped with Elisa. Emma was the strongest in the sprint and Elisa was also overtaken by the sprinter Jolien d’Hoore (Lotto) in the end. Audrey sprinted to a 5th place in the chase group, while Julie took the peloton sprint for a nice 11th place.
Team: Elisa Longo Borghini, Tone Hatteland Lima, Sara Olsson, Audrey Cordon, Julie Leth, Emilie Moberg
The stage race was a difficult affair for the small team. After the 3 first races week 1, everybody got sick, and barely made it to the start. Miriam never recovered and only started 2 stages. We came a little short in the brutal final climbs that almost all stages finished with. On the last day Tone and Siri pulled a nice sprint for Cecilie to finish in a 6th place.
Team: Cecilie, Miriam, Siri, Tone
Audrey had a solo attempt in the 3d of the Drenthe races, but was caught. Kirsten Wild (Giant Shimano) won the race.
Team: Audrey, Emilie, Julie, Thea, Sara
As in 2013 Kirsten Wild dominated this race with 3 stage wins. She also won the overall. Chloe Hosking was our strongest rider and she impressed with powerful riding over the 4 stages, taking 2 3d places on the stages 1 and 3, and ending up on 3d place overall in the GC. Lauren Kitchen showed a strong addition to the team with an impressive 15th place in the GC. Audrey, Tone, Thea and Emilie added to the teamwork with attacks, leadouts and defensive work. A good first stage race for the season!
The first UCI-win for the team in 2014 was a fact on Thursday when Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio beat No 2 Heidi Dalton with aømost 2 minutes over 30 km. It was Ashelighs first race in the new jersey.
