Season 2023 has been kicked-off in style with the Coop Hitec Products annual pre-season team weekend. The schedule was jam-packed, with hikes, ice hockey games and, of course, getting to know each other, but this proved to be no problem for all riders and staff that took part.
Following the arrival of riders and staff on Friday afternoon, the weekend started at Hitec Products HQ in Sola, which included a factory tour and a presentation about the 2023 season from Managers Karl and Tone. The riders and staff were furthermore joined by Aleksander Dyrberg from main sponsor Coop Norge. After dinner, it was time to head to the hotel to get some rest before the longest day of activities.
Time to take a hike!
Saturday began with an early wakeup call and breakfast at 7am. By 8:45, the convoy had left, heading in the direction of Preikestolen, also known as Pulpit’s Rock. The hike to the top was long and challenging, which presented a very good opportunity for riders and staff to get to know each other better. The views at the top did not disappoint and also gave a perfect chance for the team to get some group photos. After just over 3 hours of hiking, everyone arrived safely back to the car park, and it was time to head back to the hotel.

Oilers spele Hjemmakamp
After some hot showers and a late lunch, it was time to head to the DNB Arena with an ice hockey game on the agenda for Saturday evening, where local team Stavanger Oilers were playing against Frisk Asker. Before the game started, all riders and staff were treated to dinner and refreshments in Hitec Product’s VIP box. This also gave the riders an opportunity to meet other sponsors of the team. Although the Stavanger Oilers lost the game, the evening did not disappoint, with many leaving the arena a much bigger fan of ice hockey compared to when they walked in!
Time to say goodbye
After parting ways on Sunday, everyone could agree that it was a weekend full of laughs, bonding and shenanigans which meant that the weekend was most definitely a success. A good sign that 2023 will also be a successful year for the team.
