The 23-years-old Norwegian cyclist Sigrid Ytterhus Haugset has joined Team Coop – Hitec Products. On Tuesday 4 October she will already make her debut of the team, as she starts in the UCI-one day race Binche Chimay Binche in Belgium. Ytterhus Haugset has signed a contract until the end of 2024. “I am really excited to join the team and look forward to meet everyone.”
Ytterhus Haugset only started cycling a year ago and made her international debut this season. She impressed with a fourth place at the Norwegian time trial championships, but also by finishing 13th in the general classification of the Tour de l’Ardeche and by performing very well at World Tour level in the Tour of Scandinavia. Joining the team is a logical step. “The team looks like a fun group to be part of”, Ytterhus Haugset says. “I can’t wait to get to know everybody and travel around with the team.”
For the Norwegian rider it will for sure be a new adventure. “My goal is to develop further, and gain more experience and knowledge.
Since I started cycling last year, a lot is still new. I will grab this opportunity with both hands and try to learn as much as possible. I will do my best and my goal is to help the team to achieve good results during the season.”
