Two days after Marta Tagliaferro’s win in the first stage of the Tour de Feminin, Vita Heine gave Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport a new success. The Norwegian time trial champion won the third stage in the Czech Republic, a 14.4 kilometers long individual time trial. With that win, Vita moved into the lead in the general classifcation.
“I am happy to win today”, Vita told after her win. “I was careful in the corners, as it was raining, but I was still good enough to take the win. Before the time trial I was expecting a good result, but I wasn’t sure if it would be for the win, as I prefer longer time trials. We now have two hours of rest, before we have the next stage, that I will ride in the yellow jersey.”
Still leader despite crash
That fourth stage was race Saterday in the afternoon and it was raining cats and dogs. The team was in control, but in the last part there was a crash and Vita was involved. However, it was in the last three kilometers of the race and because of that, the jury gave the crashed riders the same time as the peloton. Sunday the fifth and last stage of the Tour de Feminin will be organized, with Vita starting in the yellow leaders jersey.
