Team Hitec Products has re-signed with four of their Norwegian talents. Ingvild Gaskjenn, Pernille Feldmann, Amalie Lutro and Silje Mathisen will all race for the UCI women’s team at least one year longer. German time trial specialist Mieke Kröger has also extended her contract with the team. With that, the team has now nine riders for the 2021 season. Earlier Norwegian riders Martine Gjøs, Ann Helen Olsen and Anne Dorthe Ysland signed with Team Hitec Products, as did Caroline Andersson from Sweden.
Because of Covid-19, the current cycling season is a strange one. For young riders maybe even more. Silje Mathisen for example. The 19 year old rider joined Team Hitec Products this year, but it took until last week that she was able to make her official debut for the team in an international race. In Gent-Wevelgem Silje showed good form. We talked with her about a strange season, her debut in the Belgium World Tour race and what is yet to come.
Caroline Andersson will race for Team Hitec Products in 2021. The team is happy to announce the 19 years young Swedish rider as the fourth new signing for next season. Earlier Team Hitec Products signed Norwegian riders Martine Gjøs, Ann Helen Olsen and Anne Dorthe Ysland. Andersson raced at the world championships as a junior and competed in the U23 race at this year’s European championships.
From last Thursday to Sunday, there were four races in Norway. After those four days of racing, Team Hitec Products ended up with two victories, both for Vita Heine. She won the individual time trial of the Norges Cup on Saturday with a big advantage. A day later she finished of very good teamwork with a solo win in the road race. On Saturday Ingrid Lorvik was already close to a win as well, finishing second at the Norwegian criterium championships.
After the signing of Ann Helen Olsen, Team Hitec Products has signed two more young and talented Norwegian riders. Martine Gjøs (20) and Anne Dorthe Ysland (18) will join the UCI-team in 2020. Ysland is the current Norwegian road race and time trial champion and competed at the world championships in Yorkshire in 2019. Gjøs was the Norwegian road race champion in 2017 and competed at the world championships both that year and the season after.
Team Hitec Products are happy to announce that Ann Helen Olsen will join the team in 2021. Olsen recently crowned herself as the new Norwegian U23 champion, finishing in fifth place total in the combined race with the elite category. The 22 years old rider is the first new signing of the Norwegian UCI-team for next season.
