Team Hitec Products – Birk Sports are happy to announce the contract renewal of its three most experienced Norwegian riders. Norwegian road race champion Ingrid Lorvik, Norwegian time trial champion Vita Heine and Julie Meyer Solvang. Earlier Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport already renewed the contracts of Norwegian talents Pernille Feldmann, Ingvild Gaskjenn, Amalie Lutro and Thale Kielland Bjerk, British rider Lucy van der Haar and Marta Tagliaferro from Italy. The 18 years young Norwegian talent Silje Mathisen will be new in the team in 2020.
For Lonneke Uneken it was a good week in the Boels Ladies Tour. De Dutch rider of Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport was able to finish in the top-10 in three different stages and also took a twelfth place in a stage. In the end she finished 21st in the general classification of the Dutch World Tour race. “It was a rough week, but I look back very satisfied on my first Boels Ladies Tour.”
Silje Mathisen will race for Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport in 2020. The 18 years old rider from Norway, who is a member of Halden Cycling Club, already raced with the team this year in the Tour de Belle Isle en Terre. In 2018 Mathisen became Norwegian junior champion in three disciplines: individual time trial, road race and criterium. Emilie Moberg in the past also joined Team Hitec Products as a member of Halden Cycling Club.
Marta Tagliaferro and Lucy van der Haar (Garner) will also race for Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport in 2020. The Italian rider and British rider have renewed their contract with the team. Both sprinters joined the team in 2019 and have had a succesfull season so far, being involved in several victories for the team. Tagliaferro even won two times herself, the Omloop van de IJsseldelta (UCI 1.2) and the first stage in the Tour de Feminin (UCI 2.2).
As an international cycling team, you want to race a lot of races and everyone of them is unique. However, racing a World Tour race in your home country is a bit extra special. This week is that week, as the Ladies Tour of Norway is on the program. Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport wil race it with five Norwegian riders in it’s team. On Thursday the four days stage race will start in Åsgårdstrand.
Only a bit more than a week after her third place at the European championships, Lonneke Uneken took her first podium place in a one day UCI-race this Saturday. In the Flanders Ladies Classic she was the fastest in the peloton sprint. However, with Julie van de Velde (Lotto-Soudal) and Sofie de Vuyst (Parkhotel Valkenburg), two riders stayed ahead of the first group.
