The 2020 season of Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport has started with a victory. On Monday, Lucy van der Haar (Garner) won the opening stage of Dubai Women’s Tour. She was the fastest in the bunch sprint of the race that is organized for the first time. With that Lucy was able to finish the great work of the team. Ingvild Gaskjenn was in one of the attacks during the stage, but the escapees never got a lot of space from the peloton.
After crossing the line in first place, Lucy was happy with her first UCI win in more than a year. “It was good. It was pretty quick”, she says about the stage. “There were a lot of riders trying to attack the whole race. My team did an amazing job, chasing everything down and they did a good lead out. I was pleased I could finish it off.”
