First out in the Track Cycling World Championships was Tatiana, Simona (Italy) and Charlotte (Germany) in the Team Time Trial. Both teams did strong performances, but to qualify for the next round the teams had to be top 8. Germany finished 10th and was therefore done, while Italy finished 7th and got to ride for better results next day. In the Scratch race Charlotte and Kirsten made it very exciting for us. With 13 laps to go Charlotte was in a breakaway that even the Continue reading
The first day of LToQ is done and with success for the girls of Hitec Products. The 97km stage was considered a preview of the World Championships course in October. It had two intermediate sprints where the riders could fight for 3″, 2″ and 1″ bonus seconds. Kirsten won the first sprint at 39km and gained valuable seconds for the leaders jersey. In the final it came down to a sprint where Kirsten proved to be the strongest and could celebrate her 10th stage win in Qatar. Gaining another 10 bonus seconds for her victory she now holds a lead of 7″ ahead of Annalisa Cucinotta (Alé Cippolini) and 9″ ahead of Lizzie Williams (Orica AIS).

It was a beautiful first Vuelta race in Madrid centre on Sunday, where the whole team contributed to a podium for Kirsten Wild. Janicke Gunvaldsen covered countless attacks the first hour. Tatiana Guderzo and Lauren Kitchen covered whatever Janicke missed. Charlotte Becker was everywhere, including guarding Wld in the first part. Tone Hatteland Lima had a tough day but closed the dangerous attack of Valsecchi (BePink), when immediately after Guderzo and Kitchen ambushed the peloton with a surprise attack. The group grew to 13 when Charlotte Becker followed 5 chasers, and we had a very good situation with 3 in the break. Unfortunately, too many in the break saw the danger and stopped riding. The peloton came altogether, and the Hitec team made a powerful leadout train for sprinter Kirsten Wild. Despite the good team effort she was passed by Bronzini (Wiggle) and the winner Shelley Olds (Ale Cippolini), and finished 3d in the bunch sprint.

Final Kilometers on Eurosport
A great week of racing i Holland, although not with the greatest weather. Kirsten won the peloton sprint for 3d on stage 3, after a break of 2 riders succeeded to trick the peloton. On the Saturday in Gennep Kirsten was incredibly close of winning but Brennauer passed her in the last 2 meters. For the final stage Tatiana got in a strong break of 11, unfortunately the group was caught back by the Boels Dolmans team, so De Jong (Rabo) won the stage and Lisa Brennauer (Velocio) won overall .

Another textbook win for the team as we covered every move in the race, before setting up our train at 6 km to go, with Kirsten finishing it off perfectly. A great team performance!

Another great team victory, the first on Canadian soil for us. The girls closed down countless attacks during the race, especially from Velocio SRAM, but in the end it came down to a bunch sprint and Kirsten delivered yet again to take our 14th UCI Victory for 2015.
