For some of the Norwegian riders of Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport, the 2020 season has restarted. On Sunday Amalie Lutro won a 10 kilometer time trial in Tjelta, while Pernille Feldmann ended in fourth place. For Amalie it was her second time trial in four days, as she competed in a climbing time trial on Thursday. She then finished second behind Stine Borgli (FDJ). “It was super fun to feel some race-nerves again.”
Becoming Norwegian road race champion that year, Lise Nøstvold joined Team Hitec Products in 2010. She raced for the team for three seasons. In all those years the now 33 years old former rider competed at the world championships. Now Nøstvold is still involved with the team, as she is the team doctor. We are getting ready to race again! In a period where cycling races can’t be organized, Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport are happy to announce that we will take part in the V-Series Women’s Tour. On Friday the organization of the World Tour race announced their virtual race. There will be three stages, on 17, 18 and 19 June. Every time will race with three riders and there will be a livestream of all stages.
There are not many cyclist who can say they rode for a team more than half of the years the team excists. At least, not when the team already excists for a longer periode. Thea Thorsen can. Team Hitec Products is now on its twelfth year and she rode seven seasons for the team. But how is it now with the 28 years old former cyclist from Norway? We asked her six questions.
In this corona period, we have some time to reflect and look back. With that, Team Hitec Products can look back on quite some history, as it is the oldest still existing UCI team in the peloton. A lot of riders raced for the team since 2019, both from Norway and a lot of other countries. How are they doing now? Every two weeks we look back with a former rider of the team. Already on the road since 2009, Team Hitec Products is the oldest still existing UCI team in the peloton. A lot of riders rode for the team in those twelve years. To us, this corona period seems to be a good time to look back a bit. Therefor we start a new interview series in which we talk to former riders of the team. Starting with Norwegian Johanne Bergseth, who raced for the team in 2011 and 2012.
