The new season has started and with that, a lot of riders have made their debut for their new teams. At Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport there is no difference. We have four new riders compared to the team of 2019. In the upcoming weeks we will introduce them to you through some interview. Starting with Greta Richioud. “I immidiately had the idea I was entering a big family, where everyone is nice to each other.”
After a successful start of the season at the Dubai Women’s Tour, Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport this weekend raced in Belgium. The Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and Omloop van het Hageland didn’t bring new successes. It did however give some leads for the upcoming races. Vita Heine was the best placed rider of the team on both days.
The first edition of the Dubai Women’s Tour is done and Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport will return to Europe with two victories. After winning the first stage, Lucy van der Haar also won the general classification of the four days stage race. In the final stage, Amalie Lutro got her first podium spot in an UCI race. She sprinted to the second place in a sprint of five riders.
After three of the four days in the Dubai Women’s Tour, Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport already secured three podium spots and is still in the race to win the general classification. Lucy van der Haar started the race with a win in the first stage and sprinted to a second place on day two. On wednesday the third stage was far from flat. Lucy finished third, while Ingrid Lorvik got in as fourth. With that, the general classification is still completely open.
The 2020 season of Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport has started with a victory. On Monday, Lucy van der Haar (Garner) won the opening stage of Dubai Women’s Tour. She was the fastest in the bunch sprint of the race that is organized for the first time. With that Lucy was able to finish the great work of the team. Ingvild Gaskjenn was in one of the attacks during the stage, but the escapees never got a lot of space from the peloton.
Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport has added Natalie Midtsveen to their 2020 rost. The 18 years young Norwegian rider is the fourth addition to the team after fellow countrywoman Silje Mathisen, Mieke Kröger from Germany and Greta Richioud from France. Midtsveen already raced with the in 2019 in the Tour de Belle Isle en Terre – Kreiz Breizh Elites Dames.
