Only six weeks after she broke her arm doing a training ride, Vita Heine did an amazing performance by winning silver at the Norwegian time trial championships. After a ride over 30 kilometers, she came only seven seconds short to successfully defend her title. The gold was for Katrine Aalerud (Movistar), while Elise Marie Olsen (Drops) took the bronze.
Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport had a good Tour te Fjells. After four days of racing Norwegian champion Ingrid Lorvik won the stage race. She laid the foundation for that overall victory by winning the hard third stage on Saturday. On Sunday Pernille Feldmann gave the team a second stage win, by winning the closing stage in a bunch sprint. After two second places and a third place, Amalie Lutro finished third in the overall classification and won the youth classification.
With the first UCI races starting at the end of the month, the international cycling season is almost beginning again. For a few of the Norwegian riders of Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport, the season restarts this week with a four day national race. The Tour te Fjells will be a good test for Norwegian champion Ingrid Lorvik, Amalie Lutro, Pernille Feldmann and last years winner Ingvild Gaskjenn. They can expect some strong competition in the race.
In the past three days, Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport participated in the V-Women’s Tour. Lucy van der Haar, Mieke Kröger and Julie Meyer Solvang raced for the team. They started on Wednesday with a classic stage, then raced a stage with a hard hill top finish on Thursday and ended on Friday with a criterium. However the team wasn’t able to get a top result, the riders do look back on some fun and hard days of virtual racing.

For some of the Norwegian riders of Team Hitec Products – Birk Sport, the 2020 season has restarted. On Sunday Amalie Lutro won a 10 kilometer time trial in Tjelta, while Pernille Feldmann ended in fourth place. For Amalie it was her second time trial in four days, as she competed in a climbing time trial on Thursday. She then finished second behind Stine Borgli (FDJ). “It was super fun to feel some race-nerves again.”
