Team Hitec Products raced the first race in the UCI Women’s World Tour race, Strade Bianche in Sienna, Tuscany. The race offered a tough course and challenging weather for the 121km route through Toscana including 23km of white gravel roads and over 1800m of elevation with open terrain.
The team began with a goal of a top ten to begin the World Tour calendar and were happy to deliver a satisfying 9th place. Lauren finished in a select group and fought to the line to deliver this result to the team so early in the season.
“Im really marvellously happy to meet my first goal of the spring with a top ten result here in Strade. It is a super tough day with no rest for the whole 121km and it shows we can really mix it with the best in the World! Im already looking forward to next weekend.”
The team will now turn there attention to the next World Tour race in Drenthe, the Netherlands, next weekend.
